Dr. Katie Cashen is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Duke University School of Medicine and a Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist at Duke Children's Hospital/Pediatric & Congenital Heart Center. Before moving to Duke in 2021, Dr. Cashen served as the Medical Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Children's Hospital of Michigan and worked as a pediatric intensivist there for 8 years. She completed her pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Michigan and her pediatric critical care fellowship at Ann & Robert H Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago/Northwestern University. She is an active clinical researcher and her work has focused on outcomes in pediatric congenital and acquired heart disease and the hemostatic changes during extracorporeal life support.
