Dr. Anderson is an assistant professor at University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing. She has completed an American Lymphedema Framework Project post-doctoral fellowship focused on cancer survivorship and lymphedema. She has trained as a lymphedema therapist and holds a masters in nursing education. Her personal experience with cancer treatment symptom management and survivorship care comes from over 29 years clinical experience in caring for people with cancer. Her academic training and research experiences have provided her with a strong foundation in both qualitative and quantitative methods. Dr. Anderson's long-term research trajectory involves increasing the body of knowledge of the cancer survivorship experience over the lifespan. This knowledge will ultimately contribute to the development of cancer treatment symptom self-management interventions to support cancer survivors. In addition, this knowledge will provide health care professionals with the knowledge to provide culturally-appropriate survivorship care throughout the lifespan, a critical contribution to positive, long-term successful outcomes.
