Sophie is an aspiring physician who graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Florida Honors College with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Nutrition. While in school she held various leadership positions, participated in research at local medical practices, and gained over 500 hours in volunteer experience. Most notably, she was actively involved in an organization that promoted Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, where she was able to spread awareness and positively impact the lives of breast cancer survivors.
Additionally, she has unique experiences working in areas with limited access to healthcare through her medical service trip to the Dominican Republic, and her research project with the ABCD Research Group to assess Comorbidities in free clinics around the Tampa Bay area.
Most recently, she presented research on edema in superficial venous disease patients in Denver, CO at the 35th Annual AVLS Congress. This presentation received the award “Best In Show In Oral Abstracts” along with a stipend to present at the European Venous Forum in 2022 in Venice, Italy.
