Sandra K. Rosenberg MD is a board certified fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) and is certified in wound care by the American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery (ABWMS). She graduated from Harvard College, attended the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis then residency at the Ohio State University. She became the Medical Director of the Department of PM&R at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1993, after being diagnosis with breast cancer, she became interested in lymphedema starting the Lymphedema Program at United Hospital. As the lymphatics are part of the vascular system, she developed expertise in multiple etiologies of peripheral swelling and concomitant chronic wound care. In a multidisciplinary setting at the Vascular, Vein and Wound Center she integrates PM&R techniques in edema control and wound care. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the U. Of Minnesota and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. Dr. Rosenberg is the Director of the Wound Care Fellowship through the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. She is a founding member serving on the board of directors of the ABWMS. She has been a reviewer for the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She has engaged in lymphatic and chronic wound research and contributed to multiple medical publications. She has lectured locally, nationally and internationally, She has been one of the founders of two dragon boat racing teams in the Twin Cities.
