Dr. Monika L. Gloviczki studied medicine in Warsaw and in Paris at the Faculty of Medicine - CHU Necker-Enfants Malades, where she earned her MD and PhD degrees (thesis on «Neuro-meningeal listeriosis», with Bronze Medal distinction). She obtained a master’s degree in Statistic Methodology in Clinical Research. She completed a Fellowship and received Board certification in Phlebology in 2007, at the CHU Pitié Salpetrière. From 1992 to 2007, Dr Gloviczki worked at Servier Laboratories on preclinical and clinical studies involving Micronized Purified Flavonoid Fraction (MPFF) and on the development of new drugs for venous and lymphatic disorders. She was a leader of several observational and double-blind randomized studies in venous insufficiency, venous ulcers and lymphedema, and the MPFF pharmacovigilance committee. She launched the “International Venous Digest by Fax” (with Prof. Bergan) and the journal Phlebolymphology.
She joined Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, in 2007, as a Research Fellow in the Department of Medicine, where she received the Outstanding Research Fellow Award. She was Research Collaborator of the Gonda Vascular Center. Her research included renovascular hypertension, BOLD MRI and the epidemiology of venous ulcers in Olmsted County. Dr. Gloviczki is author/co-author of several publications/books chapters. She was Assistant Editor of the 3rd/4th Edition of the Handbook of Venous and Lymphatic Disorders. She is an active member and Distinguished Fellow of the American Venous Forum, and served in the Venous Ulcer Guidelines, Lymphedema and Varicose Vein Guidelines Committees. Dr. Gloviczki is also Honorary Member of the French College of Vascular Pathology.
