Joseph E. Spahr, MD, is board certified in Hematology, Medical Oncology, and Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, and is currently practicing at the Cancer Center at Indiana University Ball Hospital in Muncie Indiana.
Dr. Spahr began his medical career as a paramedic in northern Indiana. He pursued his medical degree thru Indiana University School of Medicine. He underwent his residency in Internal Medicine in Muncie, Indiana, and served for an additional year as chief resident for his program. He pursued additional training (Fellowship) in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Huntsman Cancer Center (University of Utah).
He practiced at the Cancer Center at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana, for 12 years. He has a strong interest in Hematology, specifically thrombotic (clotting disorders), both hereditary and acquired. He left the Cancer center to pursue treatment of varicose vein disease, specifically those with concurrent clotting or hematological disorders. He practiced venous and lymphatic medicine at Indiana Vein Specialists in Fishers, Indiana, for 3 years. He obtained board certification through the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.
He recently left Indiana Vein Specialists to pursue Hematology and Medical Oncology once again.
