Indiana University School of Medicine
Dorthan, Alabama
Dr. Schul enrolled in the Indiana University School of Medicine and graduated in 1992. He is boarded by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (EM) and the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine. He transitioned from EM to the vein world in 2002 by joining and training with the largest group of physicians specializing in nonsurgical management of venous disorders. Dr. Schul opened his own center in Lafayette Indiana in 2006 and has been providing care to patients with venous leg ulcers, blood clots, the array of venous disorders, and lymphedema.
Dr. Schul has published over two dozen peer-reviewed articles, including original research where no evidence existed. Dr. Schul has been performing image guided chemical ablation, thermal ablation (Laser and Radiofrequency), as well as microphlebectomy for nearly 20 years. Dr. Schul was the first in the United States to employ Varithena once commercially available, and offers (Venaseal) and MOCA (Clarivein) to help patients with reflux conditions where thermal modalities may not be optimal.
Dr. Schul is married to wife Susie of 31 years. He has three daughters aged 27, 25, and 20. His hobbies include deep sea fishing, golf, clay target sports, and of course spending time with family which is spread across the US. Dr. Schul sees the most joy, hearing from patients how his team has changed a pateint's life. Whether resolving pain and swelling or walking a patient through a blood clot/lymphatic disorder, making a difference for those we treat makes every day satisfying.
