John Blebea MD MBA is Clinical Professor of Surgery at Central Michigan University College of Medicine. An internationally-recognized vascular surgeon, educator and researcher, he received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry with honors and graduated magna cum laude from Brown University, MD degree from Case Western Reserve University, surgical residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Rochester. Dr. Blebea has served as Chair of Surgical Disciplines at Central Michigan University and Chairman of Surgery at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa. He had previously been Chief of Vascular Surgery at Case Western Reserve University and Temple University. He has also served as faculty and in leadership positions at Penn State University and the University of Cincinnati. He has been the program director of the vascular fellowships at the University of Oklahoma, Case Western Reserve, Temple and the University of Cincinnati. He is active with leadership positions in many national professional societies, including as Treasurer of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society, Secretary-Treasurer of the Outpatient Endovascular and Interventional Society and past president of the American Venous Forum. Dr. Blebea has authored more than 250 scientific publications and has given more than 700 presentations at numerous medical conferences. He has won multiple academic awards and has been selected as "Best Doctor” at the local, state, and national levels for many years.
