Dr. Nick Morrison received a Jesuit education, including Gonzaga University and Creighton University College of Medicine, from which he graduated in 1972. He completed a General Surgery Residency at the Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. He maintained a private general surgical practice for 23 years, and in 1996, Dr. Morrison and his wife, Terri, established the Morrison Vein Institute. In 2017, Dr. Morrison and Terri joined Center for Vein Restoration. He is involved in a broad spectrum of vein and lymphedema care, including duplex scanning, visual sclerotherapy, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, ambulatory phlebectomy, endovenous thermal and chemical ablation (radiofrequency, lasers of various wavelengths, and foamed sclerosants), newer non-tumescence non-thermal ablation methods, as well as the diagnosis and directed care of patients with lymphedema, lipedema, and pelvic venous insufficiency. He has been heavily involved in various venous and lymphatic-related organizations and is Immediate Past President of the International Union of Phlebology, Past President of the American College of Phlebology, and a member of the Foundation for Venous and Lymphatic Disorders Board of Directors. He also sits on several advisory and editorial boards. He has authored many book chapters and scientific articles on varying aspects of venous disease, and continues a keen interest in clinical research. Beginning in 1989, and annually since, Dr. Morrison and Terri have directed a medical volunteer organization, Amigos de Salud, traveling to Central or South America delivering medical and surgical treatment to the indigent populations. Dr. Morrison enjoys travel, development of international relationships, backpacking, exercising, and (good) films.
