Presentation Description: This session is designed to help managers, supervisors, and CTOs successfully navigate difficult conversations with employees over performance deficiencies, behavior issues, and personal problems while remaining considerate, responding without judgement, demonstrating empathy, maintaining professional distance, and avoiding liability issues through respectful workplace practices and clear documentation. Discussion points include outlining expectations, developing interpersonal skills with co‐workers and supervisors, liability impacts such as negligent retention, training, and supervision, and how to respond appropriately when the employee isn't acting appropriately. Attendees will have an opportunity to anonymously share problems for group discussion of solutions and talk strategies.
