Joe Duvall is a thirty-five-year veteran of law enforcement; he was appointed as the Chief of Police for the Dallas (GA) Police Department in January 2018. Prior to working with Dallas, he served with the City of Marietta Police Department for thirty-one years where he retired at the rank of Major. In 2020, he led the Dallas Police Department in the creation of the first 9-1-1 center using FirstNet broadband technology in the State of Georgia and one of the first in the United States. During his tenure with the Dallas Police Department, the City of Dallas has been recognized in the top five percent of safest cities in the State of Georgia. Chief Duvall holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbus State University. He is also a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy, Session 208, and the Senior Management Institute for Police Executive Management. He also served in the United States Navy from 1983-1987 as an Operations Specialist. Chief Duvall has been married to his wife Lisa for thirty-three years and have two children and a grand-daughter.
