Billi Jo brings a unique perspective on loss and healing. The daughter of a 911 dispatcher and a 911 dispatcher herself, Billi Jo found out what it is like to be on the other side of a call. In December of 2008 a fire broke out in her family home, claiming the lives of her mother, father and youngest brother. She became responsible for her surviving brother and sister that were living in the home.
Not only did Billi Jo become and instant "mom" to her youngest sister, she went back to work and continued the job that could create a poor mental health environment. It did not help that the first few calls she took after returning to work were of house fires.
Through all the changes, loss and struggles, Billi Jo found a way to heal herself in a healthy way and continue serving the community in a job she loves.
Listen to Billi Jo's story and put yourself in her shoes as a 911 Operator that continues to serve.
