My name is Christina Mortimer and I am the Director of Communications for the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. I started my career in Public Safety in 2008 as a Public Safety Telecommunicator. Aftter a few years working in the center, I became a Communications Training Officer. In 2015, I earned the rank of a Communications Supervisor and was responsible for supervisor a shift consisting 3 other employees. In 2017, I was promoted to my current role of the Director of Communications, where I oversee the daily operations of the Flagler County Sheriff's Office Communications Center. We are a consolidated accredited PSAP with a total of 23 employees. Our Agency serves the Sheriff's Office, two Police Departments and three Fire Departments.
In 2012, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Supervision and Management from Daytona State College. In May 2021, I earned my Master's degree from the University of Central Florida in Public Administration. I am currently enrolled to begin the APCO Certified Public-Safety Executive (CPE) program in January, where I should graduate in August 2022. I currently serve on APCO's Health and Wellness committee where I hope to make a difference and bring awareness of the importance of the well-being of our public safety professionals.
