Presentation Description: PSAPs are faced with substantial cybersecurity risks through various cyberattack vectors. These attack vectors include phishing, spoofing/swatting, Telephonic Denial of Service (TDoS), Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS), and Ransomware. Understanding these threats is an important step in preparing for the increasingly complicated cybersecurity landscape for Next Generation 9‐1‐1 (NG9‐1‐1). This session will describe what specific cyber attack vectors that emergency communications centers (ECCs) are experiencing today.
Learning Objectives:
Learn about the different types of cybersecurity attack methods that an ECC can encounter.
Discuss various mitigation and hardening techniques to be used against the discussed cyberattack methods.
Identify the government agencies that will assist in during and after a cyberattack has occurred.
