Maribeth M. Bettarelli, PharmD, is the Executive Director of Quality and Accreditation at CVS Caremark. She is responsible for the organization’s accreditations with the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), The Joint Commission, and URAC. She also supports the accreditation needs of payers particularly those delegating pharmacy-related standards under the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, NCQA, and URAC health plan accreditation programs. She chairs the CVS Caremark Quality Management Committee and provides strategic guidance to business process owners across the enterprise to ensure accreditation compliance, encourage continuous quality improvement initiatives, and promote a culture of quality. Her 20+ years of managed care pharmacy experience includes utilization management, clinical program development, and clinical account management. A licensed pharmacist, she has practiced in community pharmacy and ambulatory care at an outpatient anticoagulation clinic.
Maribeth is a longstanding member of AMCP. She has served as both member and chair of several committees and currently serves as Director on the AMCP Board of Directors. Her professional involvement extends to quality organizations including the Pharmacy Quality Alliance and URAC where she serves on the Board of Directors. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy and completed a pharmacy practice residency at the Chicago Veterans Affairs Health Care System.
