OCLC Research Library Partners Metadata Managers Focus Group

The OCLC Research Library Partnership Metadata Managers Focus Group meeting at ALA Annual is open to partners and prospective partners by invitation. This meeting provides attendees with opportunities to engage with peers in OCLC Research Library Partner institutions who are responsible for creating and managing metadata.

Discussion topics of common concern will be determined by the Metadata Managers planning group and shared with the focus group for consideration and input in advance of meeting at ALA Annual. As library metadata continues to evolve, meeting discussions are likely to cover how libraries conceive of, strategize for, and integrate next generation metadata – and related skills and sensibilities – into services and workflows. As well, discussions are intended to surface collaborative opportunities for bringing innovation and efficiencies to metadata work that in turn improves and enhances resource discovery and use.
