Head of Research & Instruction
U. S. Naval Academy
I am the Head of Research & Instruction in Nimitz Library at the U.S. Naval Academy. Previously, I was the Business Librarian at American University in Washington, DC, supporting the research needs of the faculty and staff in the Kogod School of Business. In 2016, I earned my PhD in Information Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I studied the cultural adaptation of international students to higher education in the United States. Prior to entering the doctoral program, I was the Coordinator of Instruction at the American University in Cairo.
My research interests include the globalization of higher education, academic integrity, information literacy, and scholarly communications. I am particularly interested in evidence-based practice (EBP) in library and information science (LIS), and currently I am co-editing Everyday Evidence-Based Practice in the Academic Library: Case Studies and Reflections.
I live in Annapolis, Maryland, with my husband, two sons (ages 3 and 5), two chickens (Buff Orpingtons), and one talkative senior cat. I love adventures both large and small, and enjoy cooking, yoga, and exploring state and national parks.
