Allison Escoto is currently the Head Librarian and Education Director at The Center for Fiction, a literary nonprofit and membership library in Brooklyn, NY. After several years in publishing, Allison Escoto received her MLS from Queens College in 2003. Since then, she has worked as a librarian in various libraries in and around NYC. She is currently the chair of the ALA RUSA Notable Books Council. She has been a reader for the United States Artists Grant, as well as a reader for both the Center for Fiction's First Novel Prize and the Emerging Writers Fellowship. She reviews books for Booklist and is a book review columnist for American Libraries. From 2017-2020, she was the Associate Editor for Newtown Literary Journal, a publication dedicated to featuring writers from her beloved Queens.
