Allison Scanlan (she/her) is the Director of Pinson Public Library in Pinson, Alabama. She is passionate about providing excellent library service & materials to all members of the community. Allison worked as the Youth Services Specialist before becoming the Director in 2017. She graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelors's Degree in English before attending the School of Library & Information Studies at the University of Alabama. She has worked in the library world for over a decade. Allison currently serves as the President of the Jefferson County Library Cooperative Executive Committee. She is the winner of the Alabama Library Association's 2021 Intellectual Freedom Award. She previously served as the Chairperson for the Pinson Census Complete Count Committee, Chairperson of the Jefferson County Public Library Association (JCPLA) Storytelling Workshop, & Chairperson of the JCPLA Youth Services Roundtable.
