Alexander is a Library Consultant, Facilitator and Engagement Specialist. Alex is a librarian by training and has worked extensively with peoples all over the world to develop next generation libraries. For over 20 years, he has built strong relationships with the library communities and library leaders of the world. He has a deep respect for public libraries, knowledge centers, academic libraries, and historical knowledge archives. As a result, Alexander consults as a library programmer, planning workshop facilitator, digital library specialist, and traditional space planner. He has worked for over 300 different library organizations including the National Library of Greece, Stanford University, Calgary Public Library, MBRL Dubai and House of Wisdom libraries and is well regarded in the field of library science. Based in New York, Alexander brings expert library programming / knowledge management.
Alexander is president of Aaron Cohen Associates (ACA); a global library consulting firm that offers library service programming, needs assessment, library staff/job descriptions, software, IT, VR, AI, RFID automation, storage, collection and education services planning. We help libraries improve their management of resources. Alexander provides library service assessments, supports the design of new libraries, and programs library staff/organizations. He works on large cultural centers, academic facilities, museums and library information systems. Alexander provides knowledge management expertise that includes community of practice, social capital and user experience development. He provides leadership and guidance in the development of future library services and operations.
Before joining and building on Aaron Cohen Associates, LTD , Alexander earned his Bachelor's Degree in Finance from the University of Arizona and Masters Degree in Information Science at Long Island University 2005. He worked for eight years (8) as marketing / communications project manager; IT experiences include corporate IT, intranet and internet websites, multimedia and software. In the 1990's, Alexander worked as an IT project manager Red Dot Interactive in San Francisco, USWeb/CKS, March 1st in London and Silicon Valley.
