Nanette is currently with Engberg Anderson Architects in their Chicago office focusing on the Higher Education and Library Markets. She received her Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her B.A. in Art History from Northern Illinois University. Nanette She has over 17 years of experience, most recently at Purdue University as the Director of Libraries Facilities and previously as the owner of Andersson Architecture + Design. Nanette has earned her LEED AP, her FMP (Facility Manager Professional) certification, and she has received a certificate in "Environmental Controls in Museums, Archives and Libraries" from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Nanette currently sits on the American Library Association’s ACRL Buildings for College and University Libraries Committee and the CORE Buildings and Operations Section. She has served as a reviewer for the National Endowment for Humanities, Sustaining Cultural Heritage Collections Grant Panel and was appointed to the Architecture and Design Advisory Board for the Illinois Executive Mansion Committee. Nanette is co-author of "Developing Metrics to Assess the Library's Active Learning Spaces" and "Designing Academic Libraries in the Digital Age". She has served a director for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Northeast Illinois chapter, Nanette has also held the position of Advocacy Chair of the South Central Suburban Branch of the Illinois Chapter of the USGBC, and was the 2012 recipient of the USGBC-Illinois Chapters Green Champion Award. Nanette has been appointed as a commissioner and Assistant Chair for the City of Geneva’s Historic Preservation Commission, She regularly reviews design projects for architecture classes and has sat on the jury for Landmark Illinois Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Preservation Awards.
