Bridget Kowalczyk (she/her) is a Youth Services Librarian at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library in the San José Public Library system. Prior to joining the city, Bridget worked for San Jose State University (SJSU) as a librarian and Information Literacy Specialist, teaching students to locate and utilize information resources and empowering them to become successful researchers. Bridget has also worked as an educator at SJSU in the School of Library and Information Science, teaching Online tutorial development and also as an instructor in the SJSU Theatre Department, teaching Oral Expression, Physical Expression and Acting. Bridget is passionate about promoting literacy, developing relationships with families and supporting them in their efforts to nurture and educate their children from infancy through adulthood – witnessing their journey, sharing in their exploration of the world through library programs and resources and watching them grow into enthusiastic, inquisitive and remarkable individuals.
