African American Research Collection, Equity and Inclusion Librarian

Shukrani Gray (MLIS/MS Anthropology) is the African American Resource Collection, Equity and Inclusion Librarian at the New Orleans Public Library. She is currently working in multiple capacities to increase Equity, Diversity and Inclusion to New Orleans Public Library system. She serves as the Head of the system's Equity Task Force and is currently working with the New Orleans Public Library's Director, Dr. Gabriel Morley, to create the REACH Center which will include Equity, Diversity and Inclusion as one of the pillars of its collection development, programming and community partnership policies. Ms. Gray's current position as an advocate for Equity, Diversity, and inclusion is an extension of her lifelong dedication to providing accessible resources to communities of color.
