Reference and Instruction Librarian
The University of Baltimore
Kristin Conlin (she/hers) is a Reference & Instruction Librarian at The University of Baltimore. Access and narrative control is at the core of Kristin's work, which started at The Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media and is now currently part of an institutional effort to promote and adopt OER at The University of Baltimore. Kristin holds a BA in history, a MA in history with a focus in western European and early American history and digital humanities; and a MLS with graduate course work in accessibility and information infrastructure. Kristin is a left-handed Aquarius who comes from a family of artists, but is not one herself.
Kristin is facilitating a presentation with her colleague Allison Jennings-Roche. They met and designed this presentation when they were both faculty librarians at a 100% commuter, urban, public, four year university that ranks highly on the Social Mobility Index and serves a largely non-traditional student population. Due to budget constraints, both old and new, the institution is proud of its ability to do more with less. This scrappy spirit allows us to be involved in programs and opportunities that may not normally be afforded to instructional librarians.
