Student Engagement, Outreach, and Support Librarian
SUNY University at Buffalo Libraries
My name is Keith Nichols and I am a Student Engagement, Outreach, and Support Librarian who works primarily with first and second year students at the University at Buffalo (UB). UB is a large Tier I research University in Buffalo, NY. My main research interests revolve around understanding how information literacy relates to student retention and achievement in the undergraduate population and how undergraduates who receive early intervention with information literacy training fair in the college setting and are they more successful. I have worked in my current role at UB since 2017 and currently serve on the education services team which handles undergraduate information literacy and learning projects for the UB libraries.
Prior to working for UB, I worked as a librarian at the University of Georgia (UGA). At UGA I was tasked with liaising with the College of Public Health and supporting all of their research needs for both students and faculty. Due to the nature of my work at UGA, I pursued and acquired a Master of Public Health degree.
