The Laurent Clerc Stamp Project
My name is Laurent Clerc Holt. I am the 5x great grandson of Laurent Clerc, "The Apostle of the Deaf in America", an early Deaf teacher and progenitor of American Sign Language. I am leading a campaign, The Laurent Clerc Stamp Project, whose goal is to obtain for Laurent a United States Commemorative Postal Stamp. I am also the administrator of the Laurent Clerc Who? Facebook group which begins exploring Laurent Clerc's life, experiences and impact on the Deaf and hearing worlds.
