Bridging Deaf Cultures, an interest group of ALA's Office for Diversity, Literacy, and Outreach Services (ODLOS)
Alice Hagemeyer is the Founding President of Friends of Libraries for Deaf Action (FOLDA), whose mission is to promote library access and quality Deaf cultural resources for the Deaf community, and for all, nationally and globally. She is a leader of Bridging Deaf Cultures, an interest group of the ALA Office for Diversity, Literacy, and Outreach Services (ODLOS) and former librarian for the Deaf at the DC Public Library. Ms Hagemeyer spearheads the movement in support of the National Deaf History Month. In 2016 Gallaudet University recognized Ms Hagemeyer as the University's Visionary Leader in the field of library services. She is also an ALA Honorary Member.
