Lori Patel

Lori Patel is a librarian for the City of Hayward in the San Francisco Bay Area. She became involved with indigenous libraries while a research assistant for University of Southern California (USC) Libraries, where she supported grant-funded projects on challenges and opportunities in indigenous and digital libraries within the Pacific Rim Research Libraries Alliance (https://pr-rla.org/). She is active in the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the Special Libraries Association, where she has pioneered a series of member profiles. She holds a Master of Arts in English from Duke University and a Master of Management in Library and Information Science from USC. A former legal and business news editor, Lori enjoys uncovering stories of innovative librarianship.
