Karen F. Kaufmann is a Research and Instruction Faculty Librarian at Seminole State College of Florida. Kaufmann has authored or co-authored several journal articles and has been a presenter at various conferences and workshops.Currently a PhD candidate in the San Jose State University/Queensland University of Technology Gateway program, her thesis is titled: The Socio-Cognitive Relevance of Information Literacy: The impact on student academic work. She is a 2017 Beta Phi Mu Eugene Garfield Doctoral Dissertation Fellow.
Her research interests include Information Literacy, User Relevance, Information Fluency and the Research Process. Currently, Kaufmann is one of the selected ASIS&T protégés in the inaugural mentor program.
She is a member of ALA, ACRL, ASIS&T and Beta Phi Mu International Library and Information Studies Honor Society. Kaufmann served on the Florida Library Association Public Relations Committee (2011- 13) and chaired the committee (2013-2016).
