Accessibility & Inclusion Specialist

Michelle Roossien is the Accessibility & Inclusion Specialist for Kent District Library in West Michigan. Michelle has been with KDL for over 17 years, beginning as a Circulation Assistant. In 2007, she became the head of the Talking Book & Braille Center (TBBC) program for the library system, and then moved into the Accessbility & Inclusion Specialist role in 2020. Michelle still heads up the TBBC program, as well as creates and implements accessibility efforts, programs, and initiatives for the organization. She is the co-leader of KDL's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Workgroup and serves as the current Vice Chair for the National Library Service for the Blind & Print Disabled Midlands Regional Conference.
