Wendi Smolowitz, MLS
Wendi Smolowitz is an Information Services Librarian at the Ocean County Library. As Co-Chair of the Library’s Autism Resources Committee, she has overseen the Library’s expansion of resources to individuals with developmental disabilities and their caregivers. She spearheads the Library’s annual Autism Resources Fair and hosts educational workshops for caregivers. She guided the creation of the Library’s online Autism Resources Center and is responsible for maintaining the site. Wendi also assisted in the development of a staff training geared toward working with this population. Her passion for ensuring that those with developmental disabilities and their caregivers have access to the resources that they need has been fueled by her experience parenting her own thirteen-year-old son, who has autism.
