Adam L. Schiff, Principal Cataloger, Cataloging and Metadata Services at the University of Washington Libraries.
Adam is the author of the SACO Participants' Manual, a guide to proposing new and revised Library of Congress Subject Headings and Library of Congress Classification numbers. Adam has an M.L.I.S. from the University of California, Berkeley, and an A.B. in biology from Cornell University. As Principal Cataloger at the UW Libraries, Adam trains catalogers, develops cataloging policies, and serves as the NACO, SACO, and BIBCO coordinator and a liaison to the Program for Cooperative Cataloging. He has served as chair of the American Library Association's Cataloging Committee: Description and Access (CC:DA), the MARBI Committe, and the Subject Analysis Committee Subcommittee on Genre/Form Implementation. He has given numerous presentations on SACO and proposing new and revised LCSH, LCGFT, and LCDGT terms and on application of LC faceted vocabularies.
