Pearson Dewane Fundraising Consultants
Peter Pearson is senior consultant and co-founder of Library Strategies Consulting Group. He was President of The Friends of the Saint Paul (Minn.) Public Library for 25 years, and was a founder of Library Strategies. As President of the Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library, he led three capital campaigns and coordinated an annual grassroots advocacy campaign mobilizing city residents to lobby the Mayor and City Councilmembers of Saint Paul. These annual advocacy campaigns added millions of dollars of public funding to the library's operational budget and ultimately led to creating a dedicated library levy sseparate from the general fund in the city. He also served as a Trustee for the Twin Cities Regional Library System for 10 years. He is a Past President of United for Libraries as had served on the board and on many United committees and task forces. Pearson is a frequent speaker at state and national conferences. He continues to be an active consultant to libraries all over the country in the areas of fundraising, advocacy, strategic planning and Board governance and recruitment. He currently lives in Sarasota, Florida, where he serves on the Board of Directors of the Library Foundation for Sarasota County and chairs its Community Advocacy Team.
