Location: Washington Convention Center, 140B
Join the Film and Media Roundtable’s Chair’s program for a look at Brigid Maher (American University)’s latest documentary project, Women in Ska. A historical deep dive into the women who propelled the decidedly American genre of music which blends elements of reggae, rock, and bebop. From its roots in Boston of the 80’s and forward, Women in Ska will serve as a fun and illuminating look into the makings of the genre which gave the world such artists as Gwen Stefani, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and others. This presentation with clips from the upcoming film will be most delightful. So come participate in the fun. A Q&A will follow the presentation.
