Abstract/Program Book Description: Libraries reach only a small percentage of potential users through their own websites and communications. Panelists will discuss opportunities to expand community engagement beyond libraries’ physical and virtual locations through OCLC initiatives that reach information seekers on the open web. Participants will discuss how to engage diverse, often hard-to-reach information seekers and brainstorm ways to provide equitable access to library resources.

Panelists will discuss opportunities to expand community engagement beyond libraries’ physical and virtual locations through OCLC initiatives that reach information seekers on the open web.
The program will include information about recent and upcoming enhancements including OCLC’s new WorldCat.org site. New initiatives and features increase the likelihood that your library is part of users’ information journey.
Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences and offer tips for effectively engaging diverse, often hard-to-reach information seekers and brainstorm ways to provide equitable access to library resources.
