Addressing Comics Challenges
In the last few years comics have experienced some of the highest number of bans since the 1950s. To meet this challenge, GNCRT’s newest committee has created a Toolkit on Preparing For & Addressing Comic Book Bans, Censorship, and Challenges in Libraries. During this session the Committee will present their Toolkit as well as findings from their recent survey of 100+ schools and libraries on comics censorship. We will be joined in this panel by award winning–and challenged–comics creators.
Panelists: Maia Kobabe, Amie Wright, Eric Carpenter, Jack Phoenix
