Join the celebration of the prestigious Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction at ALA's Annual Conference in Washington, DC, at the Marriott Marquis. This year’s winners of the Carnegies, the first awards for adult books given by the American Library Association, are Tom Lin’s debut novel, The Thousand Crimes of Ming Tsu, and Hanif Abdurraqib’s A Little Devil in America: In Praise of Black Performance. The keynote speaker for this event is Congressman Jamie Raskin of Maryland, the author of several books, including his latest, Unthinkable: Trauma, Truth, and the Trials of American Democracy. A ticket grants you admission to this exciting presentation and reception, one free drink, and hors d'oeuvres.
