Let Teens Lead: Strategies to Build Programs Developed By Teens, For Teens

Are you curious about learning how to implement youth voice in your teen program planning? In this session, you will receive insight that will help you confidently put teens in leadership positions to develop more engaging programming. Some key tools will include: different models for teen leadership depending on the organizational structure of your institution, strategies for building and maintaining healthy teams that include both adult and teen leaders, and more.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to analyze the quality of youth participation in their own teen programming by using the Hart’s Ladder model.
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe three strategies to more effectively communicate and work alongside teen leaders on teen programs.
Upon completion, participants will be able to develop a plan for a teen program that incorporates teen leaders in the program creation process.
