Employment Security Department
Donna has worked for the Washington State Employment Security Department for over 24 years in many positions; Unemployment Insurance Tax system, Assistant Commissioner’s office, Special Investigations, and a tester for the new unemployment insurance benefit system. For the past 12 years Donna has worked in the SharedWork program assisting employers and their employees through an economic downturn. She has worked in the program as Intake/Adjudication and Plan Lead and a Lean Leader for process improvements and to improve customer experience.
Donna is a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and attended Centralia Community College for Early Childhood Education.
Donna has been a long-time member of International Association of Workforce Professional (IAWP) and has served in several leadership roles on the Washington state and international executive board, including IAWP International Director at Large. On the state level she has served as Washington State Chapter President for three terms and is currently the Washington Chapter’s Past President.
Donna has received several awards to include the Emerging Leader Award and the Hall of Fame Award but the one she is most proud of is the Group Award for Employee Engagement that started the Employment Security Department’s effort to build an organizational culture of respect, creativity, innovative problem solving and continuous improvement.
In her spare-time, Donna enjoys spending time with her 4 children and 7 grandchildren, crocheting, gardening, and traveling to the beach with her fiancée and puppy.
