Director of Workforce System Advancement Workforce Training & Education Coordinating Board
Presentation Purpose & Goal: This interactive session will bring workforce professionals up to speed on recent updates to Washington's public-facing career and education portal, CareerBridge.wa.gov. We'll demonstrate new site capabilities that enhance the user experience--both for job counselors and jobseekers--and show what's ahead in providing greater access to disadvantaged, rural, and diverse populations across WA. This session is designed to provide plenty of time for questions and answers on how to use Career Bridge to help customers evaluate whether an education program is likely to lead to employment, how much recent graduates actually earn, what industry they go to work in...and more!
Learning Objectives:
How to view performance results (employment rate, earnings, industry area) for thousands of WA education and training programs through Career Bridge's "Consumer Report Card" feature
How to better engage customers through the use of a Career Quiz that seamlessly connects to a customer's top career clusters, state labor data about the occupations within those clusters, and where to get the education and training to get the career you want
How to access other key features, including "How to Pay for School" so customers have a range of ways to pay for their education and training and are not left out because they can't afford their next education steps
