Presentation Purpose & Goal: Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) was designed to strengthen and improve our nation's public workforce system. Under WIOA, business informs and guides the system, ensuring the services we offer through WorkSource align with real workforce needs. By combining this with regional economic development strategies, we can meet the needs of a wider range of employers and enhance community development. In this panel presentation, you will hear how one local workforce development board has adjusted existing workforce practices to partner with the local economic development agency.
