Charles “Chuck” Flynn is Chief of the Suffield Fire Department located in Suffield, Connecticut where he leads a combination department of 8 career and 35 volunteer firefighters, covering a total 44 square miles. He began his fire service career in 1978 as an explorer with the Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department, ascending to chief of department prior to accepting his current position in 2012. Chief Flynn is a certified Fire Officer IV and actively instructs as an adjunct instructor for the Connecticut Fire Academy. He currently serves on the board of directors as Chairman of the Volunteer Combination Officers Section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and is the 1st Vice President of the New England Association of Fire Chiefs. Chief Flynn was inducted into the State of Connecticut Firefighters Association Hall of Fame in April of 2017. His passion runs deep with training, safety, recruitment, and retention, he is active in numerous subcommittees for several fire service organizations. The joys of his life are his 18-year-old son Brendan and his 16-year-old daughter Fallon.
