Transitional Living Center Recovery (TLCR)
Carlos started using drugs at 15 years old with his Classmates in Yuma and continued throughout his education. After his Graduation, his Addiction took him in and out of incarceration, homelessness, treatment and relationships. With all his Struggles in the Yuma Community with Drugs and trying to find Recovery, He ultimately found his Recovery with the support of Drug Court, TLCR and Family.
He has been able to apply his personal experience to a growing career in Behavioral Healthcare. He started his career as a Peer Support specialist, a Behavioral Health Technician and a Health Care Coordinator prior to becoming the Yuma Treatment Services Coordinator for Transitional Living Center Recovery (TLCR) in Yuma. TLCR is a licensed healthcare facility that has been providing peer based recovery and community integration services in Yuma since 2004. Carlos coordinates members' entry into services with substance use disorder and mental illness, in close coordination with all Yuma community agencies, Probation, Parole and the clinical and support teams at TLCR. He works closely with participants and community partners to support members along their Recovery Journey and treatment services.
Along with being an active member of the Yuma Recovery Community, Carlos is a member of numerous community support groups for the Specialty courts, Homeless Advocacy groups and Healthcare Coalitions.
He is a proud Father, Husband and his Mother’s beloved Son.
Carlos and his Wife recently bought a new Home and they are currently expecting a Baby.
