Deborah White began her career in 1984 with OK Community, a non-profit organization who provided substance abuse services to Department of Corrections where she worked as the Unit Supervisor at the Arizona Center for Women for three years. In 1987 Deborah began her work in MAT (Medically Assisted Treatment) with the Clarence Lawson Foundation until 1991 when she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and began working at the Nevada Treatment Center also working in Medically Assisted Treatment. Deborah returned to Phoenix and the Clarence Lawson Foundation from 1993 to 1996. In early 1996 Deborah began working with Intensive Treatment Systems to open the first MAT program in Yuma Arizona. While opening the Yuma Treatment Center Deborah also began working with the Cocopah Indian Tribe as a substance abuse counselor and later the Program Director. During her time with the Tribe she acted as the Secretary for a annual Youth substance abuse and leadership conference. Deborah received her State Substance Abuse Certification on July 1, 1995 which converted to a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor July 1, 2004. Over the last 36 years Deborah had the honor of being the first co-secretary on the Arizona State Methadone Coalition (1993-1995), RECEIVED TRAINING FROM THE American Society of Addiction Medicine/American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence; A Course for Clinicians 1993), Arizona Department of Health Services HCV Educator, Intertribal Council of Governments: HIV Educator, MRT Facilitator, Advanced MRT Facilitator, NCTI Trainer, have been listed on the Arizona State Board of Behavioral Health Clinical Supervision Registry to provide Clinical Supervision toward a license as a LISAC, and was the secretary for three consecutive years for the Seven River Tribes Commitment to Excellence Conference. During the April 18-20, 2018 Heroes Unite for Justice Conference Deborah was the co-presenter with Justice Andrew Gould discussing “Treatment Expectations in a Drug Court (A Judges Perspective).
