Gary F. Grimm is currently the Drug Intelligence Officer for the South Florida High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, a program funded by the Executive Office of the President of the United States, and a part of the Office of National Drug Control Policy. In 2018 he retired as the SFLHIDTA Deputy Director, Intelligence and has been employed by the SFLHIDTA since 2001. Concurrently, during this time period, Mr. Grimm held the position of Captain with the Monroe County Sheriff’s office serving as a Special Deputy. During his prior 25 year career in the U.S. Customs Service, Mr. Grimm held positions as Patrol officer, Air Officer, Special Agent, Supervisory Special Agent, ASAC, and Director, Blue Lightning Strike Force for the State of Florida. He began his federal career with the U.S. Border Patrol and held the position of Agent upon his graduation from the USBP Academy’s 111th session. He has a total of 46 years of law enforcement service. Mr. Grimm was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Florida International University in 1975 and was awarded a Master of Science degree in Management and Administration from National-Louis University in 1996. He has nine children and thirteen grandchildren.
