Julian Garcia started his Law Enforcement career in 1999 as a Corrections Officer for the Pima County Sheriffs Department. He worked inside the jail in various assignments and was also a Tactical Assistance Group member, which was responsible for dealing with High Risk cell extractions of combative inmates. He later transfered to the Pima County Superior Court house as a Judicial Security Officer as an Officer for the Courts. He remained in that assignement until February 2009.
In March of 2009, Julian began his career as a PoliceOfficer with the Tohono O'odham Nation Police Department. He spent 6 years on Patrol in the San Xavier District located on the South Side of Tucson, AZ. He was a Gang Liaison Officer assigned to assist the Gang Unit with investigations, gang suppression and Special Operations. He is also AZ POST certified as a Field Training Officer (FTO), General Instructor, Physical Fitness Instructor and Defensive Tactics Instructor. Julian helps teach courses at the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Training Center Police Academy. Julian is currently assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division as a Gang Unit Detective. Since becoming a Detective he has completed the Criminal Investigators Training Program (CITP) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, Ga. This position allows him to work closely with the Federal Agencies in his jurisdiction and hold a Special Law Enforcement Certification through the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) which allows his to present cases to the United States Attorney’s Office.
