Meghan Steel works as an epidemiologist with the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center at the University of Kentucky. Her work is primarily part of the Drug Overdose Technical Assistance Core (DOTAC) which functions as the linkage between the surveillance strategies and the prevention strategies of the Overdose Data to Action grant. To achieve this, DOTAC produces custom analyses, annual reports, and data summits that present data from hospital discharge and death certificate records in a format that can be used by stakeholders in grant applications, community assessment, and resource planning. When she is not working, Meghan enjoys helping her partner to rejuvenate their 175 year old home and crocheting a collection of sweaters and scarves.
