Social media is ubiquitous. From Instagram to Facebook to LinkedIn, professionals, acquaintances, friends and family are connecting through various channels for purposes of learning, catching up and/or networking. The blurring of professional and personal lines, however, can pose a challenge for dentists when patients of record make a “friend” request. This session will discuss some of the ethical pitfalls and benefits of accepting or rejecting these requests.
