Dr. Chambers is an oral oncologist and clinical research investigator with a focus on developing novel therapeutic approaches to the oral sequelae of cancer therapy. He is funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institute of Health (NIH), and private industry, along with philanthropy in studying oral medicine, microbiome of cancer patients, regenerative medicine, and alternative therapies in reducing treatment-induced oral morbidities. Dr. Chambers has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed high impact publications and serves on numerous editorial boards. He is the Chairman of the Section of Oral Oncology, Department of Head and Neck Surgery (HNS), at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Chambers is a tenured Professor, Vice Chair of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs (HNS), and Director of the HNC-Core Research Platform (HNS) with a secondary appointment in the Department of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Chambers serves as the Chairman of the Institutional Review Board 5 (IRB 5) and the Chairman of the External IRB Oversight Monitoring Committee. Along with his wife, Dr. Chambers has an equine operation (Chambers Circle C Ranch, Inc.) in Montgomery, Texas for breeding, training, and competition of American Saddlebreds.
