Dr. Haas received his undergraduate degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Colorado-Boulder. He received his medical degree from the University of Colorado-Denver and completed his internal medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Haas subsequently completed an aerospace medicine residency and MPH degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Haas is currently the space medicine division’s technical integration lead for the Orion Program. As a member of the Crew Health Team, Dr. Haas maintains awareness of any health-related concerns related to the design and development of the Orion capsule, which will fly humans back to the Moon as part of the Artemis Program. Dr. Haas supports Orion human in the loop and operational field testing, and has also provided medical support to astronaut training activities at Johnson Space Center and internationally.
